We provide holistic care for vulnerable children in Uganda, within a Christian environment, from birth to independence.
Our aim is to provide holistic care for disadvantaged children, within a Christian environment, from birth to independence.
We are a registered charity, founded in 1995, originally working in India but now primarily in Uganda.
Although we are a Christian organisation, a child’s religion or background is not a deciding factor in their eligibility for help; only their need is taken into account.
Our Children’s home is in the village of Namugongo in Uganda, it can accommodate up to one hundred children. Some of our children have been orphaned by AID’s but there are many reasons for a child being admitted. We have children who have simply been abandoned at our gate, we have some who have physical or learning difficulties. Others have been physically or sexually abused and some children who have HIV inherited from their mothers.
Our primary school started in 2004 and we cater for all classes from Primary One to Primary Seven. We presently have 125 children in the school with eight teaching staff. We have five purpose built classrooms and two classes sharing the main hall. Although classes tend to be quite large in Uganda, our classes do not exceed twenty children. We believe that by keeping the classes smaller the children receive more attention and a better opportunity to learn.
